Personality and mood assessments provide diagnostic clarity in cases where psychiatric conditions or long-standing personality features may be influencing functioning. These evaluations typically include:
Standardized, empirically validated instruments administered in conjunction with a comprehensive clinical interview.
Assessment of mood, affect regulation, interpersonal style, and risk factors.
Consideration of protective factors and resilience.
Clear diagnostic formulation and treatment-oriented recommendations to guide psychotherapy, medication management, or multidisciplinary care.
-
These assessments are designed to differentiate Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) from other conditions that can present with similar symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, or stress-related impairment. Each evaluation includes:
A structured clinical interview with detailed developmental, academic, occupational, and psychosocial history.
Administration of standardized, performance-based measures of attention, working memory, and executive functioning.
Multi-informant rating scales, when appropriate, to provide cross-contextual data.
Differential diagnostic considerations and rule-outs.
Evidence-based recommendations to support treatment planning, academic or occupational accommodations, and daily functioning.
-
These evaluations are indicated when there are concerns regarding specific learning disorders, intellectual functioning, or cognitive processing deficits. They are comprehensive and strengths-focused, and may include:
Administration of cognitive instruments that assess reasoning, processing speed, memory, and verbal/nonverbal domains.
Academic achievement testing to evaluate reading, written expression, and mathematics.
Executive functioning measures to assess planning, organization, and self-regulation skills.
An integrated profile that highlights both strengths and vulnerabilities.
Recommendations for academic supports, workplace accommodations, and targeted interventions.
-
These assessments are designed to provide formal documentation of functional impairments that significantly interfere with standardized testing or academic performance. They adhere to current guidelines of professional testing organizations and may include:
Comprehensive evaluation of relevant cognitive, academic, attentional, or psychiatric factors.
Clear documentation of functional impact and rationale for accommodations requested (e.g., extended time, reduced-distraction environment, additional breaks).
Integration of collateral data, prior records, and self-report where available.
Reports prepared in alignment with the requirements of testing agencies (e.g., LSAT, GRE, MCAT, Bar Exam).
-
Fitness-for-duty evaluations provide an objective assessment of an individual’s psychological readiness to safely and effectively perform essential occupational duties. These evaluations include:
Structured clinical interview with attention to occupational demands and psychosocial context.
Administration of relevant standardized instruments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
Risk assessment and consideration of role-specific competencies.
Integration of collateral information (with appropriate consent) to ensure ecological validity.
Comprehensive reports that address referral questions and provide clear, defensible recommendations regarding occupational readiness.

When clinical or referral questions do not fall neatly into a single category, I provide tailored evaluations designed to address specific concerns. These may include:
Focused assessments targeting a single domain (e.g., memory, executive functioning, mood).
Brief screening evaluations to determine whether a full assessment is indicated.
Integrated, multi-domain evaluations when diagnostic complexity requires a broader approach.
What to Expect During the Assessment Process
Free 15-Minute Consultation – A brief call to clearly clarify your personal goals, determine whether an assessment is the right fit for you, and thoughtfully address any questions or concerns.
Clinical Interview & Records Review – The assessment starts with a detailed intake covering developmental, medical, psychiatric, educational, and occupational history, plus current concerns. I also review prior tests and records as needed to ensure a thorough, personalized, and accurate evaluation.
Testing Session(s) – Standardized tests are administered in a comfortable, calm setting, carefully designed to focus on the specific concern—such as thinking, attention, memory, decision-making, personality, or mood. Most sessions are conducted in person at my Los Angeles office, providing a welcoming and private environment, while secure online testing options are available when appropriate and convenient. Testing proceeds at a gradual, deliberate pace to minimize fatigue and enhance accuracy, with thorough, clear explanations provided throughout the process to ensure understanding and comfort.
Report & Feedback Session After testing, I give you a simple report with results, clear explanations, and personalized advice based on evidence. We then meet to discuss the results, answer your questions, and plan next steps.
My Approach
Clarity – Psychological testing can feel overwhelming, so I translate testing data and clinical observations/insights into plain, understandable language. My goal is that you not only know the results, but also understand what they mean for your daily life, relationships, work, or academic goals.
Practicality – Each report concludes with evidence-based, actionable recommendations. These may include specific therapy approaches, academic or workplace accommodations, or concrete strategies to support attention, memory, and emotional well-being. I want you to leave with clear next steps that feel useful, realistic, and applicable.
Accuracy – All assessments are conducted with empirically validated instruments. I integrate test data with clinical interviews, behavioral observations, and collateral information when appropriate to ensure diagnostic reliability and real-world relevance.
Timeliness – I recognize that clients, families, and professionals often need results quickly. In most cases, written reports are delivered within 1–3 weeks of the final testing session, balancing thoroughness with efficiency.
Compassion – Assessments often take place at times of stress, uncertainty, or transition. I approach each evaluation with warmth and respect, creating a supportive environment that encourages collaboration and honesty.
Fees
Assessment fees are billed at $275 per hour. This hourly rate includes all aspects of the evaluation process: the initial clinical interview, psychological test administration, scoring, interpretation, integrated report preparation, and a dedicated feedback session to review results and recommendations.
Because each evaluation is tailored to the referral question, the total cost varies:
Targeted Assessments (e.g., ADHD evaluations, documentation for academic or professional accommodations) typically require 10-15 hours of professional time.
Comprehensive Assessments (e.g., evaluations addressing multiple domains such as cognitive, mood, and personality functioning) generally require 15-20 hours.
Specialized Evaluations (e.g., fitness-for-duty, return-to-work, or legally sensitive referrals) may require additional hours depending on the scope and collateral information needed.
Following your initial consultation, I will provide a written estimate so you know what to expect before proceeding. There is a deposit due at the time of service and full payment is required on the day of the feedback session. I can provide a superbill for potential reimbursement from your insurance if you have out-of-network benefits.
